Heat & PLA Material

Can my articulated dragon be left in a hot car or direct sunlight?
Our dragons are printed in PLA, a plant-based plastic that begins to soften around 60–65 °C (140–150 °F). Temperatures inside a parked car or on a sunny windowsill can easily exceed this. Keep your dragon away from direct sunlight, hot car interiors, heating vents, and other high-heat environments to prevent warping.

Is PLA safe for everyday indoor display and handling?
Yes. At normal room temperatures PLA is stable and non-toxic. Just avoid prolonged exposure to heat sources.

Joint Break-In & Flexibility

The joints feel stiff when I first receive my dragon — is that normal?
Yes, this is completely expected. Articulated joints are printed tightly to ensure they hold together during shipping. Gently flex each segment back and forth a few times to loosen them up. Start slowly and work along the body from head to tail. Most joints reach their full range of motion after a short break-in period.

How much force should I use?
Use gentle, steady pressure — never force a joint sharply or twist it at an extreme angle. If a joint feels very stiff, try warming the piece briefly in your hands before flexing it. Patience during break-in helps prevent stress on the print layers.

Handling & Care

How should I handle my dragon to keep it in good shape?
Support the body when picking it up rather than lifting by a single segment. Avoid bending joints beyond their natural range of motion. Store flat or on a display stand away from heat and prolonged direct sunlight.

Can I clean my dragon?
Wipe gently with a dry or lightly damp cloth. Avoid soaking in water or using harsh chemical cleaners, as these can weaken the PLA over time.

Small Parts & Safety

Are there small parts I should be aware of?
Articulated dragons contain small interlocking segments. As with any item containing small parts, keep them away from young children who may put small objects in their mouths. If you have questions about suitability for a specific age, please contact us before purchasing.
